Legal notice and disclaimer
Last updated: 26 April 2026
By installing and using AuraPOS, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted the terms listed below. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the software.
1. Development status (BETA)
AuraPOS is currently in BETA. The software is provided for evaluation, testing and demonstration purposes. It MUST NOT be used as the primary tool for managing real commercial transactions until the stable version is released. Use in critical production is at the user's sole risk.
2. No warranty
AuraPOS is provided "as is" ("AS IS"), without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The user acknowledges that the software may contain bugs, errors or unexpected behavior.
3. Limitation of liability
Under no circumstances shall AuraPOS Belgium be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, business interruption, cash discrepancies, tax non-compliance, or any other damage resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the software.
4. Tax compliance and deferred features
AuraPOS implements regulatory requirements from several countries (VAT calculation, invoicing, etc.). Two critical modules are however deliberately DISABLED during the beta phase and will only be activated in the stable version (release): (1) Peppol BIS 3.0 — electronic B2B invoicing mandatory in Belgium from 01/01/2026; (2) SCE module (Registered Cash Register System) with certified Black Box — mandatory in Belgian HORECA establishments with annual revenue above €25,000. It is the user's responsibility to verify the compliance of every transaction and tax return with the legislation in force in their country.
5. Data backup
The user is responsible for the regular backup of their data. Although AuraPOS performs automatic daily and weekly backups locally, we strongly recommend keeping off-site copies as well (cloud, external drive). AuraPOS Belgium cannot be held liable for any data loss, whatever the cause.
6. Post-release commitment
When the stable version of AuraPOS is released, users who have tested the beta will receive at least 1 additional month of free use, with no commitment, starting from the official release date. This benefit is a thank-you for your participation in the testing phase and does not bind AuraPOS Belgium beyond that period.
7. Personal data
AuraPOS (desktop software) only processes data entered locally by the user (customers, products, sales, configuration). No customer data is transmitted to AuraPOS Belgium servers during the beta phase. Update checks are performed via the public GitHub API without collecting personal information. ⚠ The website www.aurapos.be embeds an AI agent (chat assistant) powered by the Anthropic Claude API: any question you ask is sent to Anthropic to generate the answer, under their privacy policy. Do not share any sensitive data (real VAT numbers, customer data, etc.) in the chat.
8. Support and roadmap
Support during the beta phase is provided on a best-effort basis and does not bind AuraPOS Belgium to any specific response time. Announced features may evolve, be postponed or removed without prior notice.
